Softex Incorporated Releases new OmniPass Version with 123ID Biometrics

East Grand Forks, MN, October 6, 2005 —Softex Incorporated, Austin Texas, released a new version of the popular password management software, OmniPass on October 6, 2005. OmniPass is known as the Industry’s best solution for managing multiple passwords in today’s computing environments. OmniPass with 123UMS (Universal Matching System) from 123ID, Inc. unifies and standardizes the use of fingerprint sensors originating from multiple manufacturers, thus enabling true interoperability of sensors. 123UMSTM matches fingerprints captured by any of a variety of sensor manufacturers without enrolling fingerprints again for each sensor (123ID patented Interoperability.)

The updated OmniPass version 3.53.19 includes software enhancements, faster biometric verification, and new biometric sensors integrated into the system. The new biometric fingerprint sensors added to OmniPass are: silex america technology FIC-200 a PCMCIA card with a pop-out Fujitsu sensor (designed for laptops), AuthenTec 2501A swipe sensor designed for mobile devices, SecuGen Hamster III and OptiMouse III optical , a USB sensor. OmniPass facilitates the use of a fingerprint to verify identity as well as a master password and is compatible with a total of 12 fingerprint sensors on the market.

OmniPass is available in two formats: Client Edition for the stand alone user and OmniPass Enterprise Edition for an organization with server(s) and multiple users.
OmniPass has been designed to address the needs of an Enterprise to administer and support each user in the system. Security and accountability are ensured with the use of biometrics (fingerprint).
